Milton, Massachusetts is found within the popular Norfolk County and is considered part of the Greater Boston area. The birthplace of Buckminster Fuller and George H. W. Bush, Milton is a place of 27,003 as of the 2010 Census, and of that it has the highest percentage of residents with Irish heritage (38%) throughout the United States.

These 13.3 square miles have been marvelously recognized as the 7th, 5th, and 2nd ‘Best Places to Live’ in the United States by Money Magazine for the years 2007, 2009, and 2011. Evidently, the demand to live in such a special place is always high. Milton is also located between the beautiful Blue Hills and Neponset River, and is bordered by Mattapan, Hyde Park, Quincy, Randolph, Canton, Dorchester, and the Boston Harbor’s access through the Neponset Estuary.

There are six public schools in Milton, the Milton Academy private prep school, and Curry College. There is also a rare French immersion program in Milton that starts as early as grade 1. The town is also within the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority District and has a convenient fixed-route service that makes commuting in and around Milton to Boston and other areas simple and efficient.

Some other points of interest in Milton include the Granite Railway, the Suffolk Resolves House, the Governor Hutchinson’s Field, the Captain Robert Bennet Forbes House, the Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory, the Blue Hills Reservation, Houghton’s Pond, the aforementioned Curry College, Milton Academy, and Abby Park.
